Commerce Township
The township holds a household hazardous waste collection day for residents once a year.
Northville Township
Residents can use the Washtenaw County Home Toxics Center on Five Mile Road, by appointment.
West Bloomfield
The township issues vouchers for dropping off hazardous materials at a licensed facility in Livonia.
Bloomfield Township
The township runs its own annual hazardous waste drop-off day for residents.
Birmingham
Birmingham is a SOCRRA member, and residents use SOCRRA's household hazardous waste drop-off.

Do I need to sort everything before you arrive?
It helps to set aside anything you want to keep, but you don't need to have everything boxed up. Point out what stays and what goes, and we'll load the rest.
What can't go in a garage cleanout?
Hazardous materials such as paint, solvents, gasoline, motor oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, propane tanks and car batteries. Those need your community's household hazardous waste program. See the table on this page for the program that applies where you live.
Will you take an old lawn mower or snowblower?
Describe it in the form. Gas-powered equipment usually needs the fuel and oil drained first, and we'll confirm what we can take before the pickup.
Can you take shelving and workbenches?
Freestanding shelving units, workbenches and cabinets, yes. Mention anything bolted to the wall so we know what we're working with.
How long does a garage cleanout take?
It depends on how full the garage is. A few items take minutes; a packed two-car garage can take a few hours. Photos help us estimate the time and the price, and for big garages we may do an on-site estimate.
