A lake village inside our home township
The Village of Wolverine Lake is a small lake community of 4,544 residents (2020 Census) in about 1.7 square miles, a quarter of it water. The lake itself was created by damming local streams and was completed in 1923; the village incorporated in 1954. It sits within Commerce Township but runs its own government and trash service, from Village Hall on Glengary Road to the 155-acre Hickory Glen Park.
For us it's about as local as it gets: we're based in Commerce Township, so Wolverine Lake jobs are a short drive away. Lake lots, walkout basements and yards that slope toward the water often mean long carries, so tell us where things are when you request a quote.

Wolverine Lake junk removal FAQ
How many bulk items can I put out in Wolverine Lake?
The village's guidance says large items such as furniture, appliances, mattresses and carpet are collected on trash day, but no more than a couple of bulk items at a time. If you're clearing a room, a basement or a whole house, that could take many weeks, which is where we come in.
Can Wolverine Lake residents use Commerce Township's hazardous waste day?
No. Commerce Township's household hazardous waste collection is for township residents only and excludes the Village of Wolverine Lake. Check with Village Hall for current options for paint, chemicals and other hazardous materials.
Is Wolverine Lake part of Commerce Township?
The village sits within Commerce Township but has its own government and its own trash contract. We're based in Commerce Township, so the village is one of the closest places we work. See also Commerce Township.
Do you take leaves and brush?
Yes. The village has seasonal yard waste pickup and a fall bulk leaf service. For big brush piles, storm debris or anything outside the season, see yard waste removal.
